Injured Mt Eliza U-18 Player

12 May 2014 by Chelsea Football Netball Club

During last weekends U-18 match a Mt Eliza U-18 Player received what appeared to be a serious injury.

We have now received a communication from Mt Eliza U-18 Coach Steve Brattle updating us on the condition of this young player and it is pleasing to see that he is recovering well.

We are really appreciative of what Steve has had to say on behalf of both his players and the Mt Eliza Club in relation to the Chelsea FC Trainers, Coaches and Players actions on the day.

We believe that Steve’s comments reinforce the great spirit that exists in local footy and we are pleased to publish what he has had to say as follows.

“Good Morning – I write on behalf of the Mt Eliza FNC U18 expressing our sincere thanks for the handling of an injured Mt Eliza player during the last quarter of Saturdays game. Handling injuries is still a major concern in community sport and your Paramedic Mr Dave Hart was a clear leader on the day in controlling actions and escalations of the incident. Our own team are a skilled group, however my direct observations was Dave was the key person coordinating everything and gave many at the ground great support and comfort that Jordan (Capkin) was in good hands

Mark Knowles your coach and all Chelsea players participating were sincere in their wishes, at least two players including the Chelsea player involved made contact with Jordan throughout the afternoon and all were eager to wish him well. You will be glad to know Jordan was cleared of any serious head or neck injury and is resting well at home

Please pass on our thanks to everyone at the club, the scores will never reflect the true value of a great club, your players, support staff and coaches were outstanding people and a credit to your club."
