Well 2014 is well and truly under way with a most intensive pre-season the Chelsea Football Club has ever had. The players recently had a gruelling training camp that will only hold them in good stead for the year ahead , but what was more pleasing was to see how the players backed up this effort and faced up for the 20/20 cricket charity match on Sunday after their camp. The match was to honour our former team mates David Biagi, Jake Corchrane and Colin Ward. It was a fantastic turn out by all with the sun shining, the BBQ cooking & the music playing. The atmosphere has visibly changed at the club & the optimism has everyone looking forward to the year to come.
The Chelsea Netball Club has also had a great start to the season with over 20 girls turning up for the first pre-season training session. We welcome back Shane Bourke as the coach, and are pleased to have two team managers assisting with the season in Karen Allsep and Janice Donnellan. We are still looking for more players for the netball team so if you know anyone who is interested please contact myself. We are currently the only Club who has not committed to a third Netball team.
Max Shelton has organised an information night for potential sponsors on the 21st of February so please help support our club by having as many players, supporters and volunteers attending. Please spread the word as it will be an opportunity to showcase our club & what it can offer. The seagulls will soar in 201four!
